This program is ideal for youth looking to become strong, confident leaders in and around the water—whether their goal is to earn their Bronze awards, become a lifeguard, or simply gain valuable lifesaving skills.
SplashGuard Lifesaving Program
(Lifesaving & First Aid Foundations)
Our SplashGuard Program is the perfect introduction for swimmers who are ready to move beyond stroke development and dive into rescue skills, first aid, and lifesaving techniques. This three-level progression is designed to prepare youth for the Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, and Bronze Cross certifications, while reinforcing strong swimming skills and water safety leadership.
Mini SplashGuard
Mini SplashGuard introduces swimmers to key lifesaving concepts such as recognizing a distressed swimmer, basic self-rescue techniques, and the use of the ladder approach. First aid skills include how to call EMS, caring for bleeding, and understanding shock. Swimmers also build strength through 100m swims in front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke, and develop foundational skills in sculling, treading, and head-up swimming.
Junior SplashGuard
At this level, swimmers practice surface dives, underwater searches, and team rescues. The program expands into treating injuries like broken bones, dehydration, and respiratory emergencies. Swimming requirements increase to 150m per stroke and a 300m endurance swim. Key rescue techniques like stride entries, eggbeater treading, and lifesaving kicks are introduced, along with mock rescues for hands-on experience.
Senior SplashGuard
Senior SplashGuard prepares swimmers for the rigours of Bronze-level courses with a focus on real-world readiness. Swimmers complete advanced rescue drills including victim tows, object recovery, and lifesaving medleys. First aid knowledge deepens with CPR, allergic reactions, and emergency scene assessments. Endurance targets include a 350m swim in 10 minutes, 200m in each stroke, and 50m towing swims using head-up and side stroke.
